The 2019 FIRST Robotics Competition season, Destination: Deep Space, was the team’s sixth season competing.
The Game
In Destination: Deep Space, teams descended from the habitat and took hatch panels and cargo from the loading station, and placed them on the cargo ship, or on the rocket ships. At the end of the match, teams climbed back onto the habitat.

The team’s robot that season was named Papa Borrie, after a graduating student from the 2018 Power Up season. The robot used a Mecanum wheel drive. with a powered external intake and a multi-stage cascading elevator. It also had small legs to lift the robot onto the habitat.

Durham College District Event
The team’s first event of the 2019 season was the Durham College competition. Through 12 qualification matches, the team went 5-7, seeding 16th. The team was the first pick of alliance 4, and was eliminated in the quarterfinals. The team also won the Team Sustainability Award.

North Bay District Event
The team’s second event was the North Bay competition. Through 12 qualification matches, the team went 8-3-1, seeding 3rd. The team captained alliance 3, and was eliminated in the semifinals. The team also won the Innovation in Control Award.

Ontario Provincial Championship
From the team’s performance at qualifying events, the team was invited to the provincial championship, and was placed in the Science division. Through 12 qualification matches, the team went 7-5, seeding 6th. The team was the first pick of alliance 4, and was eliminated in the semifinals. The team also won the Industrial Design Award. With the season’s performance, the team finished 16th in Ontario, and qualified for the world championship.
World Championship
The team was placed in the Daly division at the world championship. Through 10 qualifying matches, the team went 6-4, seeding 22nd. The team was the first pick of alliance 6, and was eliminated in the quarterfinals.
