The 2018 FIRST Robotics Competition season, Power Up, was the team’s fifth season competing.

The Game

In Power Up, teams scored power cubes either from pre-staged locations around the field or from loading stations onto one of the two switches, or the central scale. At the end of the match, teams climbed their side of the scale.

The Robot

The team’s robot that season was named Retro Reynolds, after a graduating student from the 2017 Steamworks season. The robot used a Coleson wheel West Coast Drive, and had a powered external intake to drive the cubes into the elevator, which lifted the cubes onto the switch or scale. The elevator also acted as the climber.
