The 2022 FIRST Robotics Competition season, Rapid React, was the team’s ninth season competing. This season used one day qualifying events due to restrictions from COVID-19. These events only had 4 alliance playoffs instead of the normal 8.
The Game
In Rapid React, teams shot cargo into the lower and upper hub. At the end of the match, teams would climb in their hanger.

The team’s robot that year was named Curious George due to the design of the climber. The robot used a Coleson and omni-wheel West Coast Drive, with an over the bumper intake and a flywheel shooter. The robot also had pneumatic claws on a rotating axle for the climb.

York University District Event - Day 2
The team’s first event of the 2022 season was the York University competition. Through 9 qualification matches, the team went 4-5, seeding 10th. The team was the first pick of alliance 4, and were eliminated in the semifinals.
St. Mary District Event - Day 1
The team’s second event was the St. Mary Competition. Through 9 qualification matches, the team went 4-5, seeding 10th. The team was the 2nd pick of alliance 4, and was eliminated in the semifinals. The team also won the Industrial Design Award.
Ontario Provincial Championship
Due to low registration in the 2022 FIRST Robotics Competition season due to the COVID-19 restrictions, all teams in Ontario were invited to the provincial championship. Through 12 qualification matches, the team went 9-3, seeding 10th. The team captained alliance 8, and was eliminated in the quarterfinals. The team also won the Excellence in Engineering Award. The team ranked 19th in Ontario.
